RF 1.0kW Preheaters


For manufacturing processes focused on preheating and for curing of material like polyesters, urethanes, epoxies, and silicones, engineers turn to the more compact Thermex 1.0kW RF Preheater. This workhorse provides all the advantages of our larger Thermex RF Preheaters but with a smaller spatial footprint. Despite its smaller size, it still features 1.0kW of power, and a 2" maximum preform diameter.

Thermex-Thermatron’s RF 1.0KW Preheaters are made to expertly navigate preheating processing for all kinds of thermoset resin materials, a tier of products that features everything from vinyl esters and epoxy to unsaturated polyesters. Once you cure any kind of thermoset resin material, the polymer extracted from this petrochemical material cannot be reversed. The strength of these materials outperforms general thermoplastics, able to withstand a significantly higher heat resistance.

Dielectric Heating

The process by which a controlled heat is applied to a given mass with uniform temperature distribution in a rapid manner.

RF Preheater

A dielectric heater that is used to preheat materials prior to other manufacturing processes.  RF Preheaters are frequently utilized for compressed molding and extrusion molding, resulting in stronger, temperature-resistant thermoset plastics. 

Thermoset Plastics 

A category of synthetic materials that includes polyester, epoxy, silicone, phenolic resins, urethane, powder resins, and synthetic rubber. A thermoset plastic becomes stronger when heated and becomes resistant to many forms of corrosion. Applications can include use in sheet molding compound (SMC), bulk molding compound (BMC), epoxy molding compound, and fabricated panels. 

Thermoset Plastic Molding 

The plastic manufacturing process where thermoset resin materials are molded or finished to predetermined specifications. Applications include transfer molding, extrusion molding, and compressed molding.
